Introduction to role:
Are you ready to make a difference in the world of biopharmaceuticals? As a Senior Specialist in Safety, Health & Environment, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our operations at the College Park manufacturing facility. Reporting to the SHE and Security Lead, you'll be at the forefront of promoting safe practices and compliance with regulations, fostering a culture of safety and innovation.

Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health & safety programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing staff and the SHE Team to promote safe manufacturing practices and proper use of containment equipment.
- Identify and address SHE issues and employee concerns on site.
- Perform incident management activities, including injury investigations and recordkeeping.
- Implement and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct internal & external SHE audits and inspections.
- Carry out risk assessments (area, process, machine safety, chemical, ergonomic, ATEX, work at height, confined space) and propose mitigation actions.
- Oversee fire safety and property risk management programs.
- Develop and maintain training programs for health, safety, and environment.
- Prepare emergency plans and response strategies.
- Keep updated on new EHS regulations and industry best practices.
- Build relationships with key departments to support SHE initiatives.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- 7+ years' experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental programs.
- 5+ years' relevant experience in a cGMP environment.
- Knowledge of EHS compliance reporting.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and cGMP operations.
- Strong presentation and teamwork skills.
- Organized, communicative, problem-solver, multitasker, collaborative.
- Ability to work independently and provide task updates.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Physically and mentally capable of working in a busy manufacturing setting.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Certifications: Manual Handling Instructor, Train the Trainer, First Aid.
- Effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Proactive attitude with ownership of safety initiatives.
- Project management, LEAN, or organizational qualifications are a plus.
