We are the leading foodservice and hospitality provider across the Island of Ireland, and we are looking for a Business Development Director to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
As Business Development Director, you will have overall accountability for the new business portfolio across Ireland. Your responsibilities include generating new business, driving sales, and increasing profitability to meet targets. You will work with the Sales, Growth, and Operations teams to ensure all steps of the process are effectively managed, both internally and externally.
Additionally, you will work to raise the profile of Compass Ireland within the industry sector through strategic engagement, attendance at events and forums, and ensuring Compass Ireland leads in service delivery to meet all guidelines and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies.
2. Analyze market trends to identify new business and growth opportunities across new and existing clients.
3. Identify and build key business relationships with potential and existing clients.
4. Lead and manage the steps of the process from CRM management to operational handover.
5. Collaborate with Sales, Growth, and Operations teams to ensure all steps are effectively managed, both internally and externally.
6. Support regional and national bid opportunities.
7. Monitor sales performance metrics and analyze data to refine strategies and improve business retention.
8. Provide regular reports to senior management on business development, opportunities, and market insights.
9. Enhance the profile of Compass Ireland within the industry through strategic engagement, event attendance, and forums.
About You:
* Proven experience in business development and/or sales within the catering/hospitality industry.
* Strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of market dynamics.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lead and inspire a team.
* Ability to develop and nurture effective business relationships.
* Strong project management skills, capable of leading complex multiservice tender opportunities.
* Proficiency in producing high-quality proposals and tender documents.
* Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
* Solid commercial understanding to develop winning financial proposals.
* A full driver's license.
* Willingness to travel and commute as necessary.
