About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer with 7+ years’ experience to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects within the data centre sector.
The successful candidate will manage projects across the EMEA region, overseeing the full project lifecycle from concept design through to client handover. The role will involve leading project delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet required quality standards.
A key responsibility of the role will be managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring project teams remain aligned with programme deliverables and deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 7 years’ experience in mechanical building services design.
Relevant professional qualification.
Experience working within consultancy design environments.
Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Ability to lead projects and coordinate design deliverables on large-scale developments.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.
Excellent report writing and technical communication skills.
Good understanding of HVAC and building control systems.
Experience in plumbing and drainage design is desirable.
Experience mentoring and supporting junior and intermediate engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design delivery on data centre projects.
Manage and coordinate project teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Develop and maintain client relationships throughout project delivery.
Review and manage project scope, deliverables, and resource allocation.
Monitor project progress and report to senior management.
Ensure quality assurance procedures are followed across all project stages.
Support the training and development of junior team members.
Contribute positively to team culture and overall project performance.
