Purpose of the Job
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll take a leading role in the delivery and coordination of Paediatric services within a Primary Care team.
You’ll manage a varied caseload of children aged 0-18 with complex needs, contribute to service development, support junior staff, and act as a key clinical resource within the multidisciplinary team. Your leadership will help ensure high-quality, child- and family-centred care across East Limerick and surrounding areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for children with developmental, sensory, and physical challenges.
* Provide clinical leadership and support to junior team members, including mentoring, supervision, and case consultation.
* Manage a complex caseload, prioritising care needs while promoting functional independence and participation in everyday activities.
* Collaborate closely with families, educators, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
* Contribute to the planning and development of paediatric Occupational Therapy services within the team.
* Lead or participate in service audits, quality improvement projects, and best practice initiatives.
* Support staff training and the integration of evidence-based practices.
* Maintain high standards of documentation in line with HSE and CORU guidelines.
Requirements
* CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally including paediatrics or community-based care.
* Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team working and case coordination.
* Proven ability to manage a complex caseload and support service development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on family-centred care.
* Full clean driver’s licence and access to a car for community-based visits.
