We are currently seeking a Services Industry experienced HR Resources and Employee Relations Advisor to join our HR Department, supporting circa 3,700 employees nationwide for OCS. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide support and guidance on all aspects of Human Resources and Employee Relations. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and confident in providing expert employee relations advice, will ensure legal compliance in relation to all employment law and legislation and ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities
Ownership of a caseload of ER cases, supporting managers with expert advice and guidance to successfully resolve in a timely manner
Providing accurate & professional employment law advice to managers on all employee relations activities
Coaching, training and supporting management on all areas of the colleague lifecycle in line with company policies, procedures and best practice
Continuous development, implementation and embedding of organisational policies, practices, and procedures
Liaising with Trade Unions to resolve any employee concerns as they arise
Preparing for and representing the company at Third‑Party Hearings in partnership with our legal team
Ensuring legal compliance and adherence to company policies and best practice throughout change management processes (i.e. redundancy, restructure, TUPE etc.)
Ongoing review and continuous improvement of HR documents, templates and tools
Key contributor to the successful achievement of company, business unit and HR objectives providing support to wider business projects and initiatives
Role model and consistently demonstrate behaviours in line with our TRUE values to drive a high performance culture that encourages colleagues to achieve their full potential
Other ad hoc activities as may be required
Essential Hiring Criteria
Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent and ideally CIPD qualified, but more importantly you will have a thorough working knowledge of all areas of employment law
Prior experience in a similar role with proven experience of dealing with all aspects of ER/IR issues
Services industry experience desirable
Demonstrate the highest degree of integrity and discretion
Experience within a unionised environment
Experience of providing advice and guidance to all levels of management
Expert employee relations knowledge and ability to give advice and support
Ability to work in an organised and methodical way
Ability to work on own initiative
Team player with strong communication and management skills
A good work ethic with a positive 'can do' attitude and approach to work
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential
