Finance Manager – 9 month FTC
About the Role:
We are working on behalf of a leading organisation in the alternative finance sector with operations across the UK, Channel Islands, and Republic of Ireland. This opportunity sits within the finance function of their Republic of Ireland business, offering the chance to lead and implement enhanced financial controls and governance processes during a key transformation period.
This role reports to the Financial Controller
and will work closely with senior finance leaders and operations teams across both Ireland and the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Governance:
* Review and enhance existing financial control processes, such as balance sheet reconciliations.
* Design and implement sustainable, automated reconciliation frameworks.
* Establish improved governance processes (e.g. bank mandates, approval protocols).
* Identify and mitigate financial risks using improved control mechanisms like trend analysis.
* Develop process documentation and ensure smooth transition of new processes to the BAU team.
* Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies and standards.
Audit & Reporting:
* Act as a key liaison for external auditors and internal teams in support of the statutory audit.
* Prepare statutory accounts, including documentation and substantiation of financial balances.
* Manage audit queries efficiently and ensure timely delivery of audit requirements.
Process Improvement & Projects:
* Track and report on progress of key deliverables to senior stakeholders.
* Review operational processes associated with reconciliations and recommend improvements.
* Support the delivery of system and automation enhancements (e.g. Alteryx).
* Ensure all processes align with regulatory and year-end reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Engage closely with finance and operational leaders across Ireland and the UK.
* Build effective working relationships with the wider finance team.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Proven experience in statutory account preparation.
* Strong background in financial control and process improvement.
Desirable:
* Experience using
SAP
(company general ledger).
* Familiarity with automation tools such as
Alteryx
.
