We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Director to spearhead our research and development efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead our team and drive innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, preferably in mechanical, biomedical, electrical, or materials engineering. A bachelor's degree in one of these fields is required. In addition, the successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a proven track record of delivering results in a management and leadership capacity. The R&D Director will be responsible for structuring and resourcing the R&D team to develop technologies that ensure business success. This includes developing and promoting a culture of technical innovation, engineering from first principles, and a philosophy of being knowledge leaders in the field. The role requires effective communication channels with members of the management and engineering teams, as well as collaboration with strategic marketing and commercial functions to define patient and user needs. The R&D Director will also direct the innovation and knowledge capabilities of the company towards creating technological value for the business. This includes proactively managing project technical risks and implementing risk mitigation measures.
