NexVentur is seeking to hire a Junior Quantity Surveyor, to join our clients' team in Co. Mayo, with bases in the Mayo region, and in the East.
Our client is a well established main contractor specialising in high-end commercial fit-out, refurbishment, and interior transformation projects.
As they continue to secure a robust pipeline of local and regional commercial projects, they are seeking an ambitious Graduate or Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Mayo.

Role & Responsibilities
Perform accurate material and specialist trade take-offs from architectural drawings and interior design plans.
Assist in issuing tender packages to specialist sub-trades (e.g., joinery, glazing, partitioning, flooring, and M&E).
Compare and analyse incoming subcontractor quotes side-by-side to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Travel to project sites to assist in measuring completed work and verifying progress for monthly subcontractor payment applications.
Maintain a live variation log, tracking design updates or client changes that affect the initial project budget.
Support the Senior QS in compiling monthly cost reports and preparing final account documentation.
Projects will include
Turnkey internal transformations including structural glazed partitions, acoustic ceilings, bespoke joinery installations, and feature lighting.
High-spec, tight-deadline upgrades for regional retail outlets, boutique hotels, and restaurant interiors where minimizing business downtime is critical.
Cleanroom-compliant finishes, clinical layouts, and specialised accessibility upgrades for public buildings and medical suites.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related construction management discipline.
1+ years of experience is preferred.
Basic familiarity with measurement software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, or Cubit) and a solid baseline in Microsoft Excel.
A sharp eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a confident communication style to interact with local trades and suppliers.
Full Irish driving licence (or actively working towards one) to facilitate site visits across Mayo and neighboring counties.
Pay and package
Salary €30,000 - €40,000 to suit experience/suitability
