Community Fundraising Officer
Location: Dublin
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Contract
Purpose of the Role: This role is central to implementing Focus Ireland's National Community Fundraising development plan in the Leinster region.
Based in Dublin, the officer will engage community support and raise awareness of Focus Ireland's work.
In 2025, the organisation aims to raise over €16million.
As part of a national team, this position will contribute significantly to achieving fundraising targets and advancing the broader brand and fundraising strategy.
What you will do:
Promotion & Engagement
Creatively promote Focus Ireland's work and engage local communities through national events, DIY fundraisers, and other activities.
Income Generation
Maximise income from third-party events, individual fundraisers, and community groups by building strong relationships and partnerships.
Support volunteer fundraisers and encourage long-term engagement through repeat events.
Campaign Development
Collaborate with the Campaigns team to design and implement regional fundraising campaigns.
Recruit participants for major events such as Shine a Light, The Big Busk, and On the Move.
Media & Communications
Work with the Communications team to secure local media coverage for campaigns and general promotion.
Creative Materials
Develop and deliver creative fundraising materials in line with brand guidelines.
Manage third-party suppliers effectively.
Community Relationships
Build and maintain relationships with community groups, associations (e.g., GAA, Rotary, ICA, Scouts), festivals, events, local chambers, and businesses to support fundraising and awareness efforts.
Volunteer Management
Recruit and manage volunteer committees to support local fundraising activities and promote Focus Ireland's mission.
Finance, Budgets & Reporting
Manage cash, receipts, banking, and income acknowledgment in line with organisational procedures.
Ensure accurate fund allocation in the CRM system and to relevant campaigns.
Provide monthly reports on participants, income, projections, and necessary adjustments.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the fundraising team to maximise income and build long-term supporter relationships in line with the team's growth strategy.
Content Collection
Collaborate with services and communications teams to gather regional case studies, images, and stories.
Additional Duties
Carry out other tasks as reasonably assigned by the Head of National Community Fundraising.
Compliance
Ensure all fundraising activities comply with the Charities Act and data protection laws, following best practices.
What you will need:
Third-level qualification in fundraising, marketing, communications, multimedia, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years experience in fundraising, marketing, or a relevant field.
Event management experience is an advantage.
Proven ability to build and maintain community relationships.
Demonstrated success in meeting income generation targets.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of business acumen and ability to develop professional proposals.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasionally unsociable hours.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Full clean driver's licence and access to a car.
