The Position
As organisations become increasingly reliant on technology, the security landscape becomes more complex. The profession of Security/cyber security audit is fast-moving and dynamic. At Forvis Mazars, our team helps clients identify and manage technology risks across areas such as cybersecurity, data protection, IT audit and digital transformation.
We wish to hire a security/cyber security auditor/audit senior with a strong technical security background who has worked in a security, cyber security or Security/cyber security audit role for at least 3 years.
The successful candidate will join a growing team of technical security audit professionals working on a range of prestigious Irish and international clients. This role will provide opportunities to develop both technical IT/security skills and audit and security compliance capabilities.

Key Requirements
We accept applications from a range of backgrounds. While a strong academic background helps, what matters most is how you apply yourself to your work and the pursuit of knowledge. You may have a background in technology, computer science, engineering, security or cyber security—but what’s important is your willingness to learn and apply your skills to service our clients.
A professional qualification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar would be advantageous.
* EU security legislation such as NIS/NIS 2
* Security standards such as ISO 27001/2
* Technology and infrastructure
* Cybersecurity threats and enterprise defences
* Operational security infrastructure controls such as Firewalls, IPS/IDS, Internet proxies, PKI infrastructure, prevention solutions and methodology, and various user authentication products
* Technical cybersecurity practices and solutions such as security infrastructure, security monitoring, patching, operation of a SOC/SIEM, threat management, penetration testing, vulnerability management
* Security patch management, security incident and event management
* Deep understanding of security for Linux/Windows servers, and related TCP/IP protocols; experience with secure configuration for Linux and Windows servers
* Experience with WLAN security protocols and tools, such as 802.1X, LEAP, PEAP, WPA, and VPN technologies
* Non-technical cybersecurity practices—governance, risk management, security policy, playbooks, incident management, threat intelligence, etc.
Ideal Candidate
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Bachelor’s degree in security, cybersecurity, technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field (at least a 2:1)
* Master’s degree would be an advantage
* At least 3 years working in a technical security/cyber security or security/cyber security audit role
* Strong independent decision-making abilities
* Capable of identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions
* Enthusiastic self-starter with excellent analytical skills to identify and analyse problems, and propose improvements to clients
* Ability to identify new areas of learning and apply newly gained knowledge or skills on the job
* Can set own high standards of performance and deliver results
