Biochemistry Laboratory
Full Time – Permanent Contract
Bon Secours Hospital Cork is part of the Bon Secours Health System which is the largest independent hospital group in Ireland with over 2,500 staff including 350 leading consultants. We treat more than 200,000 patients annually. The laboratory is fully accredited by the Irish National accreditation Board, Reg no 153MT and the Hospital is JCI accredited.
The Biochemistry Laboratory at BSH Cork provides an automated chemistry service, with Immunoassay and Immunology sections processing in excess of 250,000 samples annually. Currently we are seeking an enthusiastic Medical Scientist or Biochemist, to join our dynamic team. Applications are invited for the above position from suitably qualified and experienced candidates. 2025 Graduates awaiting CORU registration are welcome to apply. Candidates will be shortlisted based on applications and a panel may be formed.
The ideal candidates must:
* Applicants for the Medical Scientist post must be eligible for membership of The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine and must also be a registered Medical Scientist with CORU or provide evidence of application number if currently awaiting registration
* Have the required qualifications for a Medical Scientist / Biochemist as stipulated by the Department of Health
* Have experience in Biochemistry or have completed clinical placement
* Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
* Be flexible and capable of working independently and as part of a team
* Be innovative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
* The applicant must be willing to undertake On-Call and Saturday morning work when adequately trained to do so.
