Data Center Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of data center and network infrastructure environments. They provide hands‑on support for servers, storage systems, network devices, backup solutions, and related infrastructure components while ensuring maximum availability, performance, and reliability of IT services.The role involves working closely with remote support teams, data center operations teams, and technical stakeholders to perform hardware deployments, break‑fix activities, infrastructure upgrades, asset management, and incident resolution. Engineers are expected to follow established procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure all activities are completed in accordance with organizational standards and best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide hands‑on support for data center and network infrastructure environments.Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure.Perform rack‑and‑stack activities, including equipment installation, cabling, and cable management.Support storage systems, backup devices, tape libraries, and disaster‑recovery infrastructure.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures and perform break‑fix activities.Identify defective hardware components and replace them with approved spare parts.Support Active Directory and domain‑based server/client environments.Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, & Change) activities for infrastructure equipment.Install, configure, and support network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.Perform labeling, patching, and asset‑tagging activities.Support SAN environments, fabric switches, and storage connectivity.Coordinate onsite support activities with customers, vendors, and internal technical teams.Provide technical support through onsite visits, remote tools, and telephone support.Update, track, and manage incidents and service requests within the IT ticketing system.Assist with backup and recovery operations and ensure adherence to recovery procedures.Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify potential issues.Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, asset information, and maintenance activities.Ensure compliance with operational, security, and data‑center standards.Carry out scheduled maintenance, hardware upgrades, and infrastructure deployment.Maintain technical documentation and support reports.Required Qualifications & Experience3+ years of experience supporting data center or infrastructure environments.Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, hardware, and domain environments.Experience working with enterprise server and storage platforms.Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server environments.Hands‑on experience with rack‑and‑stack, cabling, and hardware deployment.Experience performing hardware break‑fix and IMAC activities.Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and protocols.Experience with tape management, backup, and recovery processes.Familiarity with SAN storage environments and data‑center operations.Experience using ITSM and ticket‑management tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar platforms.Ability to read and follow technical procedures provided by remote engineering teams.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Nutanix, Cisco UCS, Dell EMC, HPE, Lenovo, or similar enterprise platforms.Familiarity with VMware, Hyper‑V, or other virtualization technologies.
