The Director of Strategy and Transformation is responsible for driving, shaping and enabling Ibec’s strategic agenda and overseeing its successful execution. This individual will work closely with Ibec leaders to deliver transformation initiatives to improve organisational performance and achieve long term strategic goals, including potential mergers or acquisitions. Acting as a trusted strategic partner to the Executive Director Team and senior leaders, this person and their team will be instrumental in iterating, adapting, refining and ultimately executing strategies in response to dynamic market conditions.
The successful person will lead a dedicated Strategic Business Unit (SBU) within our Business Services Division made up of professionals focused on execution while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, enabling strategic agility, innovation and embedding business transformation to achieve Ibec’s objectives. The unit will have responsibility for enabling project and portfolio management as well as driving and embedding new process improvement initiatives and ensuring demonstrated ROI.
The role will report directly to the DCEO. The SBU will deliver a range of services across the business that support strategy delivery including the growth agenda and will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategies across the organisation. This includes fostering a culture of collaboration and effective communication,
The SBU will also play a lead role in developing Ibec’s capability across the business in the disciplines of Strategy Execution; Project Management and Change Management through the development of a suite of tools and processes for use at divisional and team level and supporting their use.

Key areas of responsibility:
Strategy Development and Implementation:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic framework ensuring an aligned purpose, vision, mission, and values.
* Play a lead role and enable the strategic planning process, including market analysis, competitive assessment, and the identification of growth opportunities.
* Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring a fit for purpose execution framework and alignment with defined objectives, timelines, and budgets. Ensure all initiatives and projects are resourced and organised to support the delivery of business transformation
* Establish and monitor objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track implementation progress and to measure the impact of strategic initiatives on organization performance.
* Foster a culture and capability in strategic thinking and execution throughout the organisation.
* Ensure all strategic initiatives via all routes have appropriate change management plans and are supported in embedding change to deliver return on investment during and post initiative timelines.
Transformation Management:
* Oversee the organisation's transformation efforts including any mergers or acquisitions, enabling change initiatives that enhance organization performance including operational efficiency, innovation, and customer experience.
* Develop and implement a robust transformation roadmap, identifying key milestones and deliverables.
* Manage a Transformation Management Office (TMO) to provide governance, oversight, and support to all strategic and transformation projects.
* Drive the adoption of best practices in change management, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with transformation initiatives.
* Play a leadership role in the design and implementation of target operating model, process improvements and organisation capability development.
Strategic Partnership & Advisory:
* Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Executive Director Team (EDT) and senior leadership providing strategic insights and recommendations to support decision-making
* Facilitate strategic dialogue and alignment across the organization.
* Lead strategic reviews and workshops to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Act as a catalyst for strategic innovation and exploration of new business models.
* Support and challenge senior leadership in adapting and iterating strategies in response to market changes. Drive the development of scenario planning and risk mitigation strategies.
* Build and lead a high-performing Strategy and Transformation team.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
* Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
* Attract, retain, and develop top talent.
Experience and skills
* 3rd level qualifications or equivalent in a business-related discipline with additional professional qualifications an advantage
* Strong understanding of business strategy, financial analysis, and market dynamics.
* Extensive experience in strategic planning and execution with proven record of successfully leading and executing complex transformative strategic initiatives.
* Highly experienced in change management, organisational development and project management methodologies
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to think strategically and analytically, and to translate complex information into actionable insights.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
* Ability to manage a range of interconnected workstreams to deliver integrated outcomes
