Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will form part of the core project team within the Authority with responsibility for the implementation of the Critical Entities Resilience Regulation 2024 for the transport and roads sector in Ireland, reporting to the project manager. The core team will work closely with internal Authority teams and relevant external stakeholders on the implementation of the Regulations, including the identification of Essential Services and Critical Entities, and the ongoing monitoring of Critical Entities thereafter. The maindutiesandresponsibilitiesof the successful candidatewillincludesomeor allthefollowing: Implementation of national and EU legislation; Leading the preparation of consultation and decision papers; Leading on data analysis and research to inform NTA decision making; Liaison with other directorates within the NTA on assigned project delivery; Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to further NTA objectives; Preparing reports and making presentations both internally and externally, including to senior management; Leading on NTA surveys and audits of operator performance and Maintaining specialist knowledge of national and international developments and best practice within the transport sector. Additional responsibilities may include: Project Management; Process development and maintenance; Contract management: and Consultant management. Note:The functions and responsibilities initially assigned to the position is based on the current organisational requirements and may be changed from time to time. The person appointed requires the flexibility to fulfil other roles and responsibilities at a similar level within the Authority. Each candidate must meet the following requirements at the time of the competition closing: Hold a minimum of an NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably Public Policy, Law, Regulation, Business, Data Analytics, Safety and Risk, or equivalent; Haveatleast5yearssatisfactoryworkexperience,withatleast3oftheseyearsina regulatory environment; and Havestrongreportwritingskills, demonstratingtheabilitytoreview,analyseandsummariseinformationina clearandconcisemanner. The ideal candidate will also: Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review and evaluate situations to identify solutions; Have knowledge of public service policies, services and activities, specifically in the transport sector; Demonstrate the ability to manage and progresses multiple work items successfully at the same time, with limited oversight; Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders, both internal and external; Demonstrate the ability to work within, and contribute positively to, multi-disciplinary teams; and Be highly proficient in Microsoft Project, or similar.
