The NEC4 ECC Assistant Project Manager will support the NEC4 ECC Project Manager in administering Design and Build Contracts for schemes delivered on behalf of the NTA. Responsibilities include managing payments, schedules, compensation events, overseeing risk management via contract mechanisms such as the NEC early warning system, and issuing instructions, notifications, and communications. The role requires acting in mutual trust and cooperation at all times.
The Opportunity
This role involves assisting the NEC4 ECC Project Manager and the Design and Technical Services Lead in establishing and leading the Project Operations team at a site level for the specific scheme, providing strategic direction and managing a high-performance, integrated team. The role includes developing detailed financial and resource plans, overseeing the day-to-day activities of Client Partner staff, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness, and supporting the successful delivery of Core Bus Corridors Infrastructure Works (CBCIW).
The Assistant Project Manager will serve as a liaison between site-level and core-level stakeholders, promote knowledge transfer, coordinate reporting to the PMO, and oversee the performance of deployed personnel, emphasizing continuous improvement and best practices.
Experience at Arup will include
* 7+ years’ project management experience, including at least 5 years on high-value infrastructure projects or similar scale and complexity.
* Additional desirable experience includes:
* Delivering engineering solutions in urban environments, leading teams, advising on procurement and contract operation, assisting in tendering, developing contract documentation, administering contracts, managing scope and variations, auditing accounts, assessing programmes and compensation events, operating on-site, and managing stakeholders and teams effectively.
Formal Education Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
* NEC ECC Accredited Project Manager
* Safepass accreditation (desirable)
* Chartered Engineer (e.g., IEI, ICE) (desirable)
