We are looking for a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities
Cost & Financial Control
Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
Monitor performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Subcontractor & Supply Chain Management
Oversee the full subcontractor process: procurement, contract negotiation, assessment of works, and approval of payments.
Ensure subcontractor performance aligns with project requirements and commercial objectives.
Commercial Reporting & Risk Management
Produce detailed monthly cost reports and cash-flow forecasts.
Identify potential risks to profitability and develop strategies for mitigation.
Report regularly to the Commercial Manager and senior leadership team.
Contract Administration
Manage contracts, variations, and claims in accordance with main contract conditions.
Oversee final account settlements and maintain contract compliance throughout.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with clients, consultants, and the wider project team to ensure alignment of commercial goals with delivery milestones.
Provide clear, accurate updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to financial regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations.
Maintain robust audit trails and documentation.
Estimating Support
Contribute to cost planning and estimating where required.
Familiarity with systems such as Candy or IFS is advantageous but not essential.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (Chartered / working towards SCSI chartership desirable).
6–10 years' proven experience in civil engineering or commercial building construction.
Strong background in large-scale infrastructure or design-and-build projects.
Excellent knowledge of financial management tools and contract conditions.
Commercially astute with strong cost management, budgeting, and reporting skills.
High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Pay: €43,193.58-€86,007.44 per year
