Chef Management Position
A sought-after opportunity has arisen for an experienced chef to join our team as a Sous Chef. This role is perfect for those who have a passion for managing kitchen operations and working in high-end catering environments.
Job Description:
We are looking for a talented individual to manage our prep kitchen during the week, under the instruction of our Head Chef. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing food for events, mainly weddings, on site one day a week, with the Head Chef leading the team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in wedding catering or high-end bistro or restaurant environments and managing a team during service.
The main season runs from June to September, with 11-13 weddings and 4-5 weeks with no events during this time. The successful candidate will work a standard 38-40 hour week, with flexible hours on prep days. They will also be required to have their own transport to and from work.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the prep kitchen and ensure efficient use of resources.
* Order and manage stock, ensuring minimal waste.
* Implement HACCP procedures and maintain high standards of food hygiene.
* Staffing and training: develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff.
* Quality control: monitor and maintain high standards of food quality.
* Event management: lead the team on event days, ensuring smooth service delivery.
* Food costs: manage and reduce food waste, while maintaining high-quality standards.

Requirements:
* 2-3 years' experience working in wedding catering or high-end bistro or restaurant environments.
* Proven track record of managing a team during service.

* Food management and cost control skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
