Kitchen Porter – Viking Hotel Waterford
Location: Viking Hotel, Waterford City, Cork Road
Job Description: The Kitchen Porter will support the Head Chef and the kitchen team in maintaining a clean, healthy and efficient working environment. Responsibilities include washing, storing, and handling all kitchen items, assisting with cleaning schedules, reporting faults, and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Arrive on time, fully uniformed and groomed in accordance with kitchen regulations.
* Wash all crockery, cutlery and kitchen items promptly and to the required standard.
* Return all cleaned items to their designated storage locations.
* Keep the kitchen environment including floor area clean and minimise slips, trips and falls.
* Minimise wastage at all times.
* Adhere to all hygiene regulations regarding uniform, personal hygiene and operational hygiene.
* Carry out cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning schedule, completing daily and weekly checklists.
* Wear protective clothing as specified.
* Report any equipment faults or unsafe items to the senior chef on duty.
* Operate all machinery and electrical equipment as directed, without misuse.
* Maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues.
* Ensure full adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 6 months experience in the hospitality sector.
* Eligible to work in Ireland.
* Good level of English language proficiency.
* Willingness to work shifts including evenings and weekends; part‑time or full‑time arrangements possible.

Salary: Based on Experience
