Policy Manager Role Overview
This role is a key position within our team, responsible for managing work programmes to support the implementation of our strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of policy to promote wind energy and other enabling technologies in Ireland and at European level.
* Represent us in interactions with Government agencies, policymakers, members, and other stakeholders.
* Monitor policy developments relating to consenting renewable energy and grid, and identify key opportunities, risks, and issues.
* Maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders in relevant Government departments and State bodies.
* Collaborate with team members and WEI members through committee meetings, working groups, and policy forums.
* Develop and manage WEI's wind farm database and generate industry-leading analysis.
* Champion research activities and translate evidence into policy and practice.
* Manage direct reports and foster a positive environment.
Requirements:
* A legal, planning, environmental, or energy-related third-level qualification.
* A minimum of 6 years' experience in a policy or research role.
* Knowledge of Irish planning and environmental policy, particularly in relation to the energy and electricity sectors.
* Experience in an advocacy environment and understanding of Irish and European current affairs.
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to motivate and collaborate with others.
