Ecology Consultant Role
We are seeking an experienced Ecology Consultant to join our team. As an Ecology Consultant, you will be responsible for overseeing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services.
This role involves providing specialist ecological input across a variety of projects, including coastal, freshwater, marine and terrestrial ecology. You will plan, conduct and supervise ecological surveys and fieldwork activities, prepare and oversee the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), and lead the preparation of Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services
* Provide specialist ecological input across a variety of projects
* Plan, conduct and supervise ecological surveys and fieldwork activities
* Prepare and oversee the implementation of CEMPs
* Lead the preparation of Appropriate Assessments, EcIAs, Biodiversity Chapters for EIARs and other environmental reporting requirements
Requirements:
* A degree in ecology or related discipline
* A minimum of 10 years' post graduate experience in environmental consultancy
* Member of CIEEM, CIWEM or comparable professional body
* Proven experience serving as an expert witness and participating in oral hearings
* In-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation
* Strong technical report writing capabilities
* Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
* Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills
