G's Gourmet Jams are seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant / Quality Technician to support the Quality Manager in ensuring all products meet food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. This is a hands-on role with regular presence on the production floor in a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Carry out in-process and end-of-line quality inspections.
· Monitor and record OPRPs and CCPs in line with HACCP requirements.
· Verify compliance with SOPs, GMPs, hygiene standards, and specifications.
· Identify and report non-conformances and support CAPAs.
· Complete quality records, traceability documentation, and product release checks.
· Maintain and submit product specifications (internal systems and customer portals).
· Conduct product, environmental, water, and microbiological sampling
· Process customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
· Support audits, traceability exercises, and mock recalls.
· Monitor hygiene and food safety standards on the production floor and escalate issues when required.
· Support new product trials and site visits.
Requirements:
Essential:
· Degree (Level 6 or higher) in Food Science, Quality, Microbiology, or related discipline.
· Experience in a food manufacturing or quality environment.
· Knowledge of HACCP and GMP.
· Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
Desirable:
· Experience with BRC, ISO 22000, or similar standards.
· Familiarity with digital Quality Management Systems.
· Internal auditing or food safety training.
