A high-profile PCF14 role for State Street Custodial Services (Ireland) Limited requiring a risk professional who will provide independent assessment of the regulated entity’s risks and engage at senior levels to assist with identifying, analysing, mitigating, managing and monitoring risks. The individual should have a strong background in risk management, the implementation and embedding of risk frameworks and related tools. The role serves as a subject matter expert, providing ongoing direction and consultative advice to the business unit with respect to risk management policies, guidelines, and best practices.
What You Will Be Responsible For
* Demonstrate ethical leadership and promote the highest standards of integrity, probity and corporate governance. Drive communication, implementation and compliance with accepted industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements.
* Lead the embedding of a sustainable culture of risk awareness aligned with the company’s core values.
* Assist the Business Unit in identifying, analysing, managing and preventing risks in new and existing business/products/operating models and develop or enhance controls to mitigate these risks.
* Oversee the risk management infrastructure and practices in line with regulatory expectations for a depositary and sound industry practices.
* Implement the Corporate Risk Framework and related programmes; ensure alignment with corporate methodology and local regulatory requirements.
* Support business units in applying risk management best practices through continuous risk identification, measurement, management, control and reporting.
* Serve as a subject matter expert, providing ongoing direction and consultative advice on risk management policies, guidelines and best practices.
* Consider industry, market and regulatory matters relevant to the firm and monitor changes in the regulatory risk profile from a risk perspective.
* Report regularly to corporate and regional committees and boards with timely and relevant information to satisfy responsibilities.
* Develop effective working relationships with staff, ensuring staff are motivated, developed and supported.
* Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and foster a culture of risk awareness in all interactions.
* Develop and review Risk Management policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and identify areas for control improvement.
* Monitor adherence to the risk appetite framework, tolerances and profile; report on strategic initiatives.
* Provide independent oversight and challenge of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, management and reporting; advise on mitigating material risk exposures.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
* University degree in accounting, finance, banking or equivalent professional qualification.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in banking operations or financial services.
* Depositary experience required.
* Previous experience of holding PCF14 is an advantage.
* Experience operating in a highly regulated environment.
* In-depth knowledge and experience of best practice risk management methodologies in financial services.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships within the business units and across the corporation while maintaining a level of challenge.
