Civil Ground Worker Job
Excavation, grading, and compaction specialist required to work on site preparation, drainage installation, and reinstatement projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set out lines and levels, dig trenches, grade surfaces, and compact earth to ensure safe and stable construction sites
* Install drainage systems, ducting, chambers, kerbs, edgings, and paving according to drawings and specifications
* Provide trench support, backfill, and reinstatement services as needed, with a focus on maintaining accurate levels and falls
* Locate and protect existing services, and maintain safe working practices throughout the project
* Operate small plant and tools such as compactors, saws, breakers, and lasers to achieve efficient and effective results
* Assist with concrete works, shuttering, and finishing tasks to ensure high-quality finishes
* Conduct daily checks, maintain tidy work areas, and adhere to relevant RAMS and health and safety protocols
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced civil or utilities ground workers to join a mobile crew delivering high-quality civil works to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in similar roles, along with relevant qualifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and full driving license. Strong knowledge of drainage installation, ducting, and pavement construction is also essential, as is the ability to read drawings and use laser levels or GPS equipment effectively.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety. Flexibility to travel, work early starts, and occasional weekend shifts is also required. A qualification in SLG or Traffic Management would be beneficial, as would experience with concrete pours, kerb laying, and block paving.
