Transport Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our dynamic team.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning daily driver routes in full compliance with transport regulations, including Tachographs, drivers' hours, and SOPs, using company IT systems. They will develop and refine the transport delivery schedule to enhance service levels for customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and manage daily driver routes to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
* Develop and refine the transport delivery schedule to meet customer and stakeholder expectations.
* Ensure all fleet and driver operations meet legislative guidelines, escalating and rectifying any breaches immediately.
* Liaise closely with drivers and third-party carriers to address transport-related queries.
* Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
* Monitor and report on Tachograph records and driver working hours.
* Provide accurate input to the Operations Manager to support periodic reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
* Previous experience in transport planning or a similar role within the transport/distribution sector.
* Strong understanding of transport regulations, including Tachographs and drivers' hours.
* Proficiency in transport planning systems and route optimisation tools.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
