National Sustainability Programme Lead (Built Environment) (Public Sector)Salary: €74,701 (non-negotiable)Location:Dublin, Sligo, Dundalk or Cork.Contract:18 Months (Full-time)Hybrid Working:3 days in-office / 2 days remoteHours / Annual Leave:35-hour week with 29 days annual leave*Applications for this role close on Wednesday 4th February at 5PM.This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and the built environment who wants to play a central role in shaping Ireland’s national Building Energy Rating (BER) framework. The role sits at the intersection of policy, technical standards, software systems, and operational delivery, contributing directly to Ireland’s obligations under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).You will lead cross-functional projects, influence national energy performance methodologies, and collaborate with a wide range of technical, operational, and external stakeholders to deliver an optimised BER framework that supports Ireland’s climate and energy targets.Why this role?Be part of anationally significant programmewith real influence on Ireland’s sustainability agendaOpportunity to shape policy, systems and operational frameworks at a national levelHigh-impact role within the public sector focused on climate action and energy performanceKey Responsibilities:They will include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinate and manage projectsacross several business functions to deliver an optimised BER framework.Work withcalculation methodology teamson the development and enhancement of building energy performance methodologies.Collaborate closely withsoftware and systems development teamsto integrate methodologies into national BER platforms (includingDEAP and NEAP).Partner withBER operations teamsto manage operational stakeholders including BER assessors, auditors, and helpdesk functions.Lead initiatives to streamline and improve quality and efficiencyacross methodology, systems and operations.Developcoordination, performance and management dashboardsusing Microsoft Power BI.Manage research and analysis projectsto inform the design and delivery ofMinimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPs)under the EPBD recast.Build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and represent the organisation professionally with external stakeholders.About you - essential requirements:The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:ALevel 7 degree or higherin a relevant discipline such as Architecture, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Building Services, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, or another relevant technical/operational field.A minimum offour years’ directly relevant experiencein building performance assessment or modelling, sustainability/energy consultancy, or project management in a related area (postgraduate experience may be included).Working knowledge of building energy performance methodologies, includingDEAP and NEAP.Experience working inmulti-disciplinary environments, managing projects involving a wide range of stakeholders.Strongproject management skills, including managing scope, timelines, quality, risk and delivery outcomes.Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organisation in public and professional forums.Stronganalytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and exercise sound judgement.Knowledge of relevantDirectives and standards, including theEnergy Performance of Buildings Directive and Irish Building Regulations.Experience insoftware development environments, quality control, stakeholder management anduser acceptance testing.A good understanding ofbuilding energy systems.BER Assessor certification.PMP or other project management certification.Experience delivering or supportingpositive customer or stakeholder experiences.If you're ready to step into a nationally significant role, influence Ireland’s approach to building energy performance, and work at the forefront of sustainability within the public sector, this is a standout opportunity to make real impact.Apply now: Send your CV to Philly Lambe at Lex Consultancy to be considered.Apply for this job(National Sustainability Programme Lead (Built Environment) (Public Sector) / #PL19825)Call us on +353 1 6628990 and quote job reference #PL19825
