The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, digitally savvy Sales & Marketing professional to lead the hotel's commercial strategy and drive business growth. This multifaceted role spans sales, marketing, revenue management, events, and brand positioning, with a focus on increasing revenue, market share, and brand visibility.
You will work closely with the General Manager and Revenue Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations across these functions and ensuring synergy to achieve and exceed business objectives. Through strategic leadership and hands-on involvement, you will position the Arklow Bay Hotel as a leading independent destination in County Wicklow.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and monitor the annual sales & marketing strategy, business plan, and budget aligned with financial objectives.
* Drive revenue growth through effective leadership of the sales, marketing, events, and revenue teams.
* Represent the hotel at local, national, and international sales activities, including events, tradeshows, FAM trips, and client presentations.
* Review all sales, marketing, and revenue activities regularly, assessing performance and initiating improvements.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities across all market segments.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure strategies remain competitive and effective.
* Manage relationships with external partners, including PR agencies, representation agencies, travel networks, and digital marketing partners.
* Oversee sales and marketing projects as required.
* Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Sales & Marketing role within the hospitality industry.
* Proven expertise in the luxury hospitality market with a strong understanding of high-end sales and marketing practices.
* Demonstrated experience in revenue management and strategic sales & marketing planning.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
* Strong leadership qualities, with experience managing and motivating high-performing teams.
* Proactive, flexible, and willing to travel for client visits, marketplace events, and FAM trips.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills; able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to team engagement.
* Full, clean driving licence required.
* Familiarity with Hotsoft PMS is an advantage.
