This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering organisation specialising in
engineered-to-order isolator systems
for leading pharmaceutical clients. You'll play a key role in delivering complex equipment projects from concept through to final handover — acting as the central point of coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.
The Role
As a Project Manager, you will manage multiple complex equipment projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule, within scope, and in line with customer requirements. You will lead cross-functional teams, oversee the design and approval stages, and manage the full lifecycle of projects from sales handover through FAT/SAT and final delivery.
This role requires strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple engineered-to-order equipment projects end-to-end
* Own the sales handover process and turn "as sold" specifications into executable project plans
* Develop detailed project schedules with internal and external stakeholders
* Serve as the primary point of contact for client relationship management
* Lead project core teams to deliver against schedules and budgeted resource hours
* Manage project budgets, resources, and daily operational tracking
* Handle Variation Change Requests (VCRs) when project scope changes
* Oversee drawing releases to fabrication and purchasing
* Lead stage-gate design reviews and support client approval processes
* Collaborate with procurement on long-lead item planning
* Manage GA and P&ID approvals, along with ergonomic mock-up reviews
* Oversee FAT and SAT protocol development and execution
* Ensure all deliverables comply with documentation and quality requirements
Skills & Experience Required
* 3+ years' experience delivering equipment projects within regulated industries (ideally pharmaceutical)
* Strong background in equipment implementation and project management
* Experience using 3D CAD — Solid Edge or similar
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong stakeholder management capability with proven customer-facing experience
* Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and work to tight deadlines
* Working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in the Life Sciences sector
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
Education & Training
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
* Project Management training/qualification
* Minimum 3 years' experience in equipment implementation within regulated industries
* Experience with Solid Edge (or equivalent) CAD software
