The candidate must have at least one year of experience working with children in a childcare setting or in a similar role, excellent communication skills, a caring and empathetic nature, strong attention to detail, and a minimum qualification of Level 5 in Childcare or equivalent. A second language would be an advantage. Duties include supervising children's play and encouraging physical, social and emotional development; providing opportunities for different types of play and preparing materials for a wide range of children's activities; encouraging children's independence, self-confidence and social interaction; organising and supervising children's activities in accordance with childcare regulations; cleaning the play area and equipment after use; liaising with parents, carers and colleagues; and keeping all appropriate records.
