Role: Health and Safety Advisor. The successful candidate will support the delivery of projects from a health and safety perspective with a strong ethos on health and safety, compliance, reporting, and documentation.
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Greater Dublin and South Leinster Region). Employment type: Full-time.
Responsibilities
* Conduct site surveying and setting out where applicable.
* Provide health and safety training to employees including manual handling, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
* Perform safety inspections and audits; identify and address non-conformances.
* Promote accident prevention and environmental protection with proactive measures to raise safety standards.
* Assist in preparing reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
* Implement the company’s health, safety and environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
* Assist in maintaining Health & Safety KPIs and drive improvements across related matters.
* Support management in developing H&S procedures, policies, and programs.
* Collaborate with the HSQE team to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
* Continuously seek to improve Health & Safety standards within the company management system and on sites.
* Monitor and enforce the Health & Safety Management System.
* Identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are addressed in site documentation and on site.
* Maintain clear communication with the H&S Manager and ensure site folders and statutory records are up to date.
* Ensure adherence to site rules by all personnel and assist in compliance with statutory H&S requirements.
* Assist H&S Manager and site management to develop and implement risk assessments and improvements to Safe Systems of Work.
* Coordinate safe systems of work for all by working with contractors and site teams.
* Carry out H&S audits on site and address non-conformances with site management and contractors.
* Contribute to accident and incident investigations and identify training needs for GMC personnel and contractors.
* Perform ad hoc tasks as needed by the wider business.
Qualifications
* Full clean driver’s license essential.
* A 3rd level qualification in Health and Safety is desirable.
* Civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) experience.
* Confident, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong time management, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
* Strong relationship-building abilities across project stakeholders and statutory bodies.
* Ability to manage risk and implement control measures.
* Ability to work with contractors from various backgrounds and trades.
