THE POSITION
The Head of Business Development will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team.
The Head of Business Development will hold executive responsibility for leading and advancing the organisation's national income generation strategy, encompassing commercial operations, fundraising, communications and marketing functions.
This role carries significant strategic importance in shaping a sustainable and diversified income model to support the continued delivery and expansion of Enable Ireland's services.
The successful candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary function operating across Head Office, regional locations and a nationwide retail network, overseeing a team of approximately 130 personnel.
They will be responsible for identifying and developing new commercial opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, driving income growth across multiple channels, and ensuring the effective alignment of brand, marketing and fundraising initiatives with organisational objectives.
The role will also require regular engagement with the Chief Executive Officer and Board in relation to performance, risk and strategic direction.
REQUIREMENTS
The appointee will be an accomplished senior leader with a proven track record of delivering strategic growth and income generation within a complex organisation, ideally within the not-for-profit, public or related sectors.
They will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, with experience in developing and executing income generation strategies, managing multi-site operations, and leading high-performing teams to achieve ambitious financial and organisational targets.
They will possess excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including funders, corporate partners, donors and internal teams.
A relevant third level qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline or substantive relevant experience is required, alongside a demonstrable ability to lead organisational change, manage risk, and operate with sound judgement and integrity in a values-driven environment.
