About the Job
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with and completing various financial duties, including managing transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing management accounts. You will work closely with the Company Accountant to ensure all procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently.
* Managing all transactions within the finance department
* Maintaining both sales and purchase ledger
* Assisting with payroll processing
* Collating, posting, and reconciling month end stocks
* Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and following up on issues
* Preparing VAT submissions, Intrastat, TSS compliance, and other government returns
* Assisting with cashflow management
* Maintaining the cost system on Sage
* Monitoring financial controls and implementing changes where necessary
* Working with external auditors at year end
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Previous experience working in a busy office environment
* An Accounts Technician Qualification or Trainee/Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
