At the Galway Clinic, the above role is available on a full time, temporary (12 months) basis, 35 hours per week.
This role will be mostly based in our oncology dept while also including some rotation to the dispensary.
The Role: Provision of top-up services to wards, to include management of drug stock on hospital units, crediting returns and charging issues Unpacking and checking of deliveries, processing returns, liaising with counter assistant re: invoices, credit notes etc Compounding of chemotherapy, with strict adherence to good aseptic manufacturing practices Processing of outpatient prescriptions and over-the-counter sales in pharmacy outpatient dispensary Placing orders with wholesalers and pharmaceutical companies Increase in responsibility during periods of pharmacy technician leave Candidate Requirements: Pharmaceutical technician diploma or equivalent Previous hospital experience, to include aseptic experience, 1-2 years desirable Excellent communication skills, ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Flexibility in work practices Excellent organisational skills Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive information Demonstration of ongoing professional updating and development To apply, please refer to: Closing date for receipt of applications: Monday 23rd June 2025 at 5pm Blackrock Health Galway Clinic is an equal opportunities employer.
