Position Overview
Under the direction of the Senior Engineering Manager in the Sensor Engineering Org, the Engineering Supervisor will provide technical leadership and support to equipment technicians across the shift. Manage the shift technicians, equipment, and line performance through specific maintenance KPIs. This role also involves supporting cross‑functional departments as needed to help maintain an optimal operations environment.
Shift Schedule
Back‑end night shift from Q4 2026, consisting of 12‑hour night shifts every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4‑on/3‑off – 3‑on/4‑off schedule.
Shift premium: 25% on Thursdays; 30% on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of equipment technicians during the assigned shift, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Review PM (Preventative Maintenance) and CM (Corrective Maintenance) activities in Maximo as part of maintenance oversight.
Delegate preventative maintenance tasks and oversee corrective maintenance activities.
Review and approve technician time and attendance records as required.
Supervise projects such as layout moves, equipment assembly and validation report execution.
Deliver monthly performance updates through one‑on‑one meetings with each technician.
Coordinate or conduct technician training as needed to maintain skill levels and support development.
Work closely alongside the Production Supervisor to ensure smooth and effective shift operations.
Provide hands‑on support in escalation scenarios or when critical decisions are required.
Maintain and report on department metrics such as OEE, yield and other related KPIs related to equipment performance and maintenance.
Ensure full compliance with all safety procedures, including Dexcom’s Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program and other relevant safety protocols.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to sustain equipment and support deployment and improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date equipment documentation (manuals, drawings, specifications).
Qualifications
Level 7/8 qualification and 5–8 years of related experience.
Supervisory experience in a similar role is essential.
Ability to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
Ability to write routine reports, shift reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
Knowledge and experience with PLC and automated production/process equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, electro‑mechanical systems, resistance welders, packaging equipment highly desirable.
Experience with process improvement projects (e.g. improving yields, reducing downtime).
Proven ability to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and personal interaction skills.
Knowledge of high‑reliability, high‑volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
Technical writing skills applied to manufacturing documentation and process development – experienced in creation and revision of technical documentation.
Travel
10 % travel required.
