You'll take ownership of complex support tickets that require deep technical expertise acrossSQL Server, database performance tuning, cloud infrastructure (AWS), patching, upgrades, and migrations.This role combineshands-on technical problem solvingwithcustomer-facing communication, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently while keeping stakeholders informed.Key Responsibilities:Database Administration, Maintenance & Performance TuningConfigure and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases using SSMS, ensuring high availability, security, and performancePerform routine and proactive database maintenance, including log management, index rebuilding, and health monitoringImplement best practices for backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning, including regular DR testingIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, improve monitoring, and implement long-term stability improvementsPatch Management & UpgradesAnalyse, plan, and execute application patches and system upgrades with minimal downtimeTake end-to-end ownership of patching activities across non-production and production environmentsCollaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to plan and deliver upgrade rolloutsTroubleshoot patch failures, third-party upgrade issues, and post-upgrade performance problemsDocument resolutions and recurring issues to support continuous improvementMigrations & Data RefreshPlan and execute data refreshes between environments (UAT, Staging, Production)Perform database migrations across on-premises, cloud (AWS, Azure), and hybrid environmentsProvision and manage AWS-hosted database infrastructure, including EC2, EBS, and backup/restore processesOptimise cloud resources through performance tuning, scaling, and cost-aware utilisationTechnical Support & Stakeholder ManagementLead customer communication during incidents, providing clear and regular updatesWork closely with internal teams such as Engineering, R&D, and Pre-Sales to resolve issuesDiagnose and troubleshoot SQL Server, Windows, and database performance problems, including query optimisation, blocking, deadlocks, and bottlenecksWhat Makes You EligibleBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline5+ years' experience in technical support, engineering support, or database administrationStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, and SSMSProven experience supporting production systems and resolving complex incidentsAdvantageous ExperienceCustomer-facing support experience in a global or enterprise environmentExperience with patch management, software upgrades, and database migrationsHands-on AWS experience (EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, backup and recovery strategies)Exposure to tools such as MicroStrategy, Python, and Docker
