Accounting Technician
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Technician/Bookkeeper to join our team at a busy solicitor's practice based in South Galway. Previous legal practice experience is preferred for this hybrid position based in Loughrea, Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
* Update and maintenance of postings for both Client Accounts and Office accounts.
* Nominal Accounts, Supplier Accounts, and Third-party Accounts.
* Recording of receipts/direct lodgments/payments by cheques, EFT, Land Direct payments, and CRO payments ensuring accuracy and compliance with Law Society regulations.
* Document evidence for receipts and payments.
* Transfers from Clients Account and Journal for Transfers.
* Clients Authorities in relation to S.150 letters/Bills of Costs/Statement of Account.
* Monthly Bank reconciliations for all Clients accounts and Office account.
* Month end and Year end reports and Balancing Statements.
* Invoicing, processing of Invoices/Bills of Costs, and contacting Clients regarding outstanding accounts.
* Assisting fee earners with finalising Bills of Costs and Statements of Accounts.
* Processing of supplier Invoices and Accounts Payable.
* Preparation and filing of VAT returns and Thesaurus Payroll System.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Previous legal accounts experience in a Legal Office or similar Office is essential.
* Experience in Solicitors computerised accounts and case management systems.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and numerical skills are essential.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Law Society accounts regulations.
* Excellent communication skills and an eye for accuracy.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and meet deadlines.
