Description The roleWe are seeking an Associate Director with a strong background in the financial services and asset management industry. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges and emerging trends impacting the sector and will bring significant experience in funds financial reporting.This role involves leading and overseeing financial reporting engagements, managing and developing high-performing teams, and acting as a senior point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. The Associate Director will work closely with FAAS leadership and senior personnel across Grant Thornton, as well as with key decision-makers within our client base.Key Responsibilities:Lead the preparation, review, and finalisation of financial statements for clients within the financial services and asset management industryManage end-to-end statutory and regulatory reporting processes across multiple engagementsResolve complex accounting, GAAP, and regulatory issues, providing technical guidance to clients and teamsBuild and maintain strong, trusted relationships with client representatives and senior stakeholdersLiaise with investment managers, fund accounting teams, auditors, and regulators as requiredLead, mentor, and develop teams, including supervision, performance management, coaching, and trainingDrive system improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting efficienciesContribute to business development activities and actively promote FAAS internally and externallySupport FAAS leadership in strategic initiatives, client proposals, and practice growthSkills, Experience and Attributes:Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of the financial services and asset management industry, gained either in practice or industryExperience across a range of fund types and structures, including Mutual Funds, UCITS, ICAVs, Private Equity, REITs, and SPVs (advantageous)ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent IFAC-recognised qualificationTypically 5+ years post-qualification experience in audit or financial reporting within financial servicesStrong technical expertise in IFRS and US GAAP, with working knowledge of Irish GAAP and Luxembourg GAAPExcellent understanding of accounting and regulatory requirements applicable to investment fundsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and report writingExperience with ERP and fund accounting systems such as Geneva, Investran, Oracle, SAP, or Workday (desirable)Strong attention to detail with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issuesHighly effective communicator, confident in dealing with senior stakeholders and clientsProven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong leadership, coaching, and people management skillsCommercially minded with a proactive approach to client service and business developmentHigh energy, enthusiasm, and motivation, with a passion for taking on new challenges#LI-RM1
