Community Developer (SICAP) – Full Time

Knockanrawley Resource Centre CLG (KRC) is an award-winning community development organisation working with individuals, families and communities in Tipperary Town and surrounding areas since 1991.
In partnership with South Tipperary Development Company (STDC), KRC delivers the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2024–2028. We are now seeking a Community Developer to join our frontline Social Inclusion team.
About the Role
This is a frontline, people-centred community development role focused on engaging individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage and supporting them to achieve meaningful social, educational and progression outcomes.
The Community Developer will work directly with Individual Beneficiaries (IBs) and Local Community Groups (LCGs) to deliver SICAP Goal 1 and Goal 2 actions, using community development principles rooted in equality, participation and social justice.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support to Individual Beneficiaries, including assessment, action planning, progression pathways and referrals
* Support the development and capacity building of Local Community Groups through facilitation, training and community-led action
* Engage effectively with hard-to-reach and marginalised communities, including Travellers, migrants, people with disabilities and lone parents
* Deliver community education, group programmes, workshops and events
* Organise and support initiatives relating to health, wellbeing, climate justice and intercultural awareness
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to SICAP reporting using the IRIS system
* Work collaboratively with statutory services, community organisations and local networks
* Apply community development values and trauma-informed practice across all work
Essential Requirements
Education
* Community Development Practice (CDP) qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher), or
* A recognised third-level qualification (NFQ Level 6+) in Community Development, Social Care, Youth Work or a related discipline
Experience & Skills
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in SICAP or a similar social inclusion / community development programme
* Proven experience of frontline community development work
* Experience working with Individual Beneficiaries and/or Local Community Groups
* Experience engaging disadvantaged or hard-to-reach communities
* Knowledge of IRIS or similar CRM / reporting systems
* Strong group facilitation, communication and relationship-building skills
* Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office essential)
* Full clean driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable
* Train the Trainer or Group Work & Facilitation qualification (Level 6)
* Experience in climate action or environmental sustainability initiatives
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
* Experience working with Meitheal and/or TUSLA structures

Contract Details
* Full-time, fixed-term contract to 31 December 2028 (subject to continued SICAP funding)
* 35-hour working week
* 6-month probation period
* Garda Vetting required
