About the Role
The Director of Rooms will serve as the architect of the guest experience from arrival to departure, ensuring every interaction reflects the warmth, grace, and precision of The Hawthorn by Galway Bay brand. As part of the pre-opening team, you will have strategic oversight of front office, guest services, concierge, butler department, housekeeping and room presentation.
This role is ideal for a luxury hotel leader with an eye for nuance, a passion for service, and a relentless pursuit of excellence within an international market.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and implement all guest-facing SOPs with a focus on fluidity, grace, and personalised service.
* Oversee the guest experience across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Spa ensuring consistency, warmth, and polish at every touchpoint.
* Develop all departmental SOPs, guest service rituals, and internal communication systems in the pre-opening phase.
* Lead the recruitment, training, and development of your team, creating a culture of excellence and opportunity.
* Ensure all operational standards reflect the 5-star positioning and ethos of The Hawthorn by Galway Bay brand.
* Deliver on guest satisfaction metrics, internal quality audits, and operational KPIs across all departments.
* Monitor and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial performance in collaboration with the Finance team.
* Collaborating with Sales & Marketing, F&B, and Spa leadership to deliver a fully integrated and thoughtfully choreographed guest journey while reporting to the GM.
Ideal Profile
* 5+ years of experience in a senior Rooms Division leadership role within a 5-star or luxury hotel environment.
* Luxury global brand experience.
* Experience operating a luxury butler division.
* Deep understanding of luxury guest service, attention to detail, and international standards of excellence.
* Demonstrable success in guest satisfaction, team development, and financial performance.
* Sound analytical and reporting skills with the ability to manage budgets and track KPIs.
* Proven 5 star luxury pre-opening experience is essential.
* Strong communicator, emotionally intelligent leader, and solution-oriented operator.
