We are seeking an accomplished Development Director to lead the planning and delivery of a high-profile, strategically important property development on a sensitive site in Dublin. The development has cultural significance and requires rigorous due diligence, a transparent and accountable process, and potential engagement with a private development partner. The successful candidate will ensure the project upholds the highest standards of public value, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement while navigating a complex regulatory and planning environment. This is a pivotal leadership role with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the long-term development of Dublin. Key Responsibilities: Provide clear strategic direction for the development and urban regeneration goals. Lead the development process from feasibility through planning, procurement, design, and delivery. Oversee all due diligence activities, including legal, technical, environmental, and financial reviews. Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, procurement rules, and internal governance frameworks. Engage constructively with a broad range of stakeholders, including local authorities, public representatives, community groups, and regulators. Build public trust through transparent communication, inclusive consultation If required, lead a robust and transparent procurement process to identify a suitable development partner. Negotiate partnership or joint venture arrangements that deliver strong value and mitigate risk. Monitor project milestones, costs, risks, and performance indicators to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Provide detailed reports to the Executive Board, project stakeholders, and oversight bodies as required. Candidate Profile: Essential: Minimum 10 years' experience in property development, regeneration, or major capital projects Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder urban development projects. Expertise in planning policy, regulatory compliance, and due diligence. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Familiarity with Irish planning legislation, procurement processes, and the broader property industry. Experience working on brownfield or sensitive urban sites. Background in real estate, urban planning, construction, architecture, engineering, or law. This is a contract role and will require a time commitment of circa 3 days per week (may vary).
