Job Description
The Local Authority Waters Programme aims to protect and improve Ireland's natural waters. The EU Water Framework Directive seeks to achieve this through River Basin Management Plans and Programmes of Measures.
To facilitate regional coordination, the programme has established a programme with two elements: the Communities Office and the Catchment Assessment Team.
A national panel for Senior Community Water Officers is being established for a minimum period of 1 year. Current and future fixed-term positions may be filled from these panels in any of the programme locations.
Main Responsibilities
* Participate in the development and implementation of River Basin Management Plans and Programmes of Measures.
* Collaborate with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities to achieve the objectives of the Water Framework Directive.
* Analyze and assess water quality data to inform management decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Familiarity with river basin management planning and programmes of measures.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
