Accounts Receivable & Credit Control Assistant

Job Purpose:

This is a key role within the Accounts Receivable team, responsible for processing and managing the flow of transactions and invoices and ensuring that customer accounts are up to date with queries responded to in a timely manner. While sitting within the Accounts Receivable team, this is a commercially focused role and will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to broaden their experience and exposure across the broader Finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

1. You will be required to carry out the following tasks:
2. Daily Bank postings and reconciliation
3. Involvement in the entire accounts receivable cycle from invoicing, credit control, reconciliations and monthly close
4. Supporting the statutory and monthly management accounts preparation which will include taking charge of accounting for debtors, bad debts etc.
5. Working directly with the Team lead to proactively and effectively manage ageing debtors
6. Liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve queries in a timely manner
7. Contacting customers by phone/email for outstanding payment
8. Following up with customers regarding failed direct debits
9. Issuing copy invoices or any other information as required by a customer to resolve payment
10. Dealing with customer queries
11. Opening new customer accounts
12. Updating customer contracts
13. Testing of new reports and software updates as required; and
14. Any other ad hoc duties as could be expected of an Accounts Receivable and Credit Control Assistant

Key Capabilities:

15. 3 year+ Accounts experience
16. Ambitious, energetic and motivated with ability to adapt to new challenges
17. Be able to work on their own initiative and be a good team player
18. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
19. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
20. Intermediate MS Excel skills
21. Proficiency in working with multiple systems
22. Strong written and verbal communication skills
23. Distribution of branding to suppliers nationwide
24. Stationery and office supplies management
