We are seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Oversight
Review designs for structural steel, cladding, and building works to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
Provide technical guidance during design development and construction.
Site Supervision
Oversee daily site activities, supervising subcontractors and monitoring progress.
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Project Management
Manage projects or project elements from planning through to completion.
Oversee scheduling, resourcing, and cost control to deliver on time and within budget.
Construction & Installation
Coordinate and monitor erection of structural steel and installation of cladding systems.
Ensure all construction activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
Quality Assurance
Implement quality procedures, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Manage nonconformities and corrective actions.
Health & Safety
Promote a safety-first culture across all activities.
Carry out inspections, identify risks, and ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation.
Commissioning & Handover
Oversee testing, inspections, and final completion of structural and building elements.
Manage handover process to meet client expectations.
Collaboration & Coordination
Liaise with consultants, design teams, subcontractors, and project managers.
Resolve technical issues promptly and maintain clear communication.
Subcontractor Management
Define scopes of work and oversee subcontractor performance.
Ensure subcontractors deliver in line with program, quality, and safety requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records including drawings, progress reports, inspections, and handover documentation.
Project Support
Assist in project planning, design coordination, and site investigations.
About You
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
5+ years' experience in structural steel, cladding, and building works.
Proven ability to supervise and coordinate subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
Full clean Irish/EU driving license.
