Job Description:
A meat production specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire meat production process, from receiving raw materials to packaging finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Quality Control: Inspect and evaluate the quality of incoming raw materials and outgoing products to ensure they meet company standards.
* Production Planning: Plan and coordinate the daily production schedule, including assigning tasks to team members and monitoring progress.
* Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and equipment as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
* Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in meat processing or a related field preferred.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in meat processing or a related industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
* Skills: Strong knowledge of meat processing principles and procedures; excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
