Maintenance Planner – MSD
Join MSD as a Maintenance Planner and play a key role in planning and executing the maintenance program for the API Maintenance team.
Reporting to the API Maintenance Manager, you will effectively plan and assist in scheduling maintenance work to ensure effective and timely execution. You will use strong technical knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance to map out repair plans in a standard work format.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development, implementation and day‑to‑day operation of the site maintenance system & strategic KPIs.
Coordinate the work‑scheduling process with the Maintenance Manager & Scheduler to meet site‑specific targets on maintenance backlog management.
Plan PM & CM work orders by visiting job sites, booking/ordering materials, writing task lists and working closely with contract providers to plan work requests.
Continue to develop the PPM (Planned and Predictive Maintenance) system, including writing job plans and assigning maintenance frequencies.
Liaise with the Reliability Engineer on the implementation of the PdM programme.
Operate and execute the PPM Change Control System.
Review incoming work orders & notifications to ensure data accuracy, correct work type and manage CM (Corrective Maintenance) backlogs through weekly meetings.
Plan, estimate, and assist in coordinating all aspects of maintenance and project activities associated with maintenance shutdowns.
Support development of the equipment annual review and periodic OOT trend report.
Support implementation of maintenance best‑practice methodologies/technologies, including LSS processes and creation of standard work for routine maintenance activities.
Engage with Reliability Engineers on criticality assessments and develop new maintenance strategies/plans for new assets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Trade qualification or a 3rd‑level qualification in a relevant discipline.
2+ years’ experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing GMP environment.
Knowledge and experience of CMMS systems, ideally SAP & Procal.
Experience managing vendors and contractors.
Good understanding of World‑Class Maintenance practices and expectations.
Knowledge of maintenance systems and work practices for both electrical and mechanical crafts.
Knowledge of predictive and condition‑monitoring maintenance techniques and their applications.
Leadership, communication, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills with a proven track record of collaborating effectively within a team.
