Role Purpose: Blackrock Clinic is seeking an experienced and dynamic Radiology Services Manager 3 to lead the Radiology Department or a specific purpose contract maternity leave period. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services in line with clinical, operational, and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who excels in service development, team leadership, and clinical governance. Qualifications/Experience: BSc. in Radiography CORU Registration Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare/Management (desirable) Minimum 10 years clinical experience in Radiography, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role Key Responsibilities: The role is responsible for many duties, including but not limited to: Strategic & Operational Leadership Lead and oversee the Radiology Departments operational and clinical functions. Develop and implement strategic plans that support the hospitals goals for radiology services. Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources across all imaging modalities. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Team Management Provide leadership and line management to Radiology Services Managers 1, Clinical Specialists, and multidisciplinary teams. Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to maintain optimal staffing levels. Lead by example to inspire a motivated, engaged, and high-performing team. Ensure ongoing professional development, education, and appraisal of team members. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., HIQA, EPA, CORU & JCI). Promote and monitor adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies. Participate in and lead internal and external audits, clinical governance, and accreditation processes. Participate in Radiology Safety and Radiation Protection meetings, implementing actions as required. Service Development & Innovation Drive the introduction of new imaging technologies, protocols, and services in collaboration with clinical stakeholders. Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance patient flow, service efficiency, and patient experience. Manage service KPIs, report on departmental performance, and implement action plans for improvement. Financial & Resource Management Develop and manage departmental budgets in collaboration with senior management. Oversee procurement and maintenance of imaging equipment and supplies. Ensure appropriate financial controls and cost-effective service delivery.
