Responsibilities
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality nursing care to infants and families within the neonatal high dependency area and ward cots on the Neonatal Unit.
Assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources and undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the CNM2.
Be a role model in coordinating and managing the specialist neonatal care required for complex, medical, surgical and preterm neonates within the 6 bed Neonatal High Dependency Unit (NHDU).
Safeguard the provision of high standards of quality care to infants and their families consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of the hospital.
Qualifications and Experience
Register on the Children’s Division and/or the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Have 2 years post graduate neonatal experience.
Have proven clinical and managerial ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.
