Overview We are seeking a results-driven and accountableSenior Project Manager to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial awareness, capable of delivering projects ahead of programme and under budget. This role requires someone who is as comfortable leading a site team as they are managing client expectations and contractual obligations. The Senior Project Manager will take full responsibility for project execution, driving performance across programme, cost, quality, and compliance. They will be a confident communicator, skilled in chairing meetings, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned. Key Responsibilities Contractual & Commercial Delivery Manage all aspects of the project in line with the main contract, Employers Requirements, and Contractors Proposals. Interpret and control the contract sum, preliminaries, and budget allowancesensuring margins are protected or improved. Ensure robust processes are in place to capture, notify, and agree variations, delays, and other contractual entitlements. Support QS and commercial team with timely information, instructions, and contractual correspondence. Review sub-contractor orders and packages to ensure alignment with scope and programme. Programme Management Drive delivery of the construction programme, proactively identifying opportunities to pull ahead of schedule. Work closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure coordination and sequencing of works is aligned. Monitor progress through short-term programmes and daily planning; adjust site strategy as necessary to meet milestones. Lead weekly project meetings, define priorities, and hold team members accountable for progress. Leadership & Team Communication Define roles and responsibilities clearly across the project team. Chair regular coordination, client, and subcontractor meetings, ensuring accurate minutes and action tracking. Promote a performance-based culture that focuses on outcomes, team accountability, and proactive problem solving. Ensure all communicationboth verbal and writtenwith the client and stakeholders is clear, professional, and timely. Operational Oversight Lead the site team in planning, logistics, procurement, and resource management. Ensure plant, labour, and material allocations are optimised and aligned to programme. Maintain clear oversight of daily operations and site activities, supporting resolution of on-site issues swiftly. Quality & Compliance (SHEQ) Oversee implementation of company SHEQ systems and ensure safe systems of work are in place and maintained. Support the production and maintenance of Inspection & Test Plans and ensure non-conformances are resolved efficiently. Ensure the project is delivered to the highest quality standards with appropriate documentation and records maintained. Ensure all regulatory and internal compliance requirements are met, including temporary works and environmental controls. Client & Stakeholder Relations Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and statutory bodies. Represent the company in all client and external stakeholder meetings with professionalism and clarity. Identify potential repeat business or cross-selling opportunities and communicate them to the leadership team. What Were Looking For Proven experience delivering construction projects as a Project Manager. Strong contractual knowledge (JCT, NEC or equivalent) and understanding of commercial principles. Exceptional communication and leadership skills. A track record of improving programme and financial outcomes. Familiarity with construction management systems (e.g., Procore, Asta, MS Project).
