Enabling people with an intellectual disability to have full and meaningful lives through quality person-centred services in partnership with families"The Organisation:Cheeverstown is a voluntary organisation, regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA).We provide a wide range of person-centred services, including residential, respite and day services to almost 400 children and adults with an intellectual disability in the south Dublin area.Purpose of the Post:The successful applicant will be a valued member of our Nursing staff team, providing a range of services to persons with intellectual disabilities. In line with the strategic priorities and values of Cheeverstown, the Service User is placed at the centre of our circle of support. Therefore, flexibility in your working location is required in order to best support Service Users to achieve their individual desired goals and live full and meaningful lives. We have two contracts available, one permanent and one specified purpose.Placement is across all areas of Cheeverstown Campus & community as well as our services in the South Dublin area. Applicants must agree to support the transition of campus-based residents to supported living in the community.Person specification:Applications are invited from candidates who are currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in the RNID DivisionApplications from other nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland who have a minimum of 1 years' experience in the area of Intellectual Disability will also be consideredHave the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.Candidates will possess a high level of communication skills and strong command of English language (both verbally and written)A flexible approach to hours to meet the needs of the service is essential, roster requirements include days, sleep over, nights and weekendsFlexible, responsive to a person-centered approach and the individual needs and abilities of the personCandidates should be proficient in I.T.Knowledge of the current HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013One years' experience supporting people with an intellectual disability is desirable.Ability to lead a teamOther requirements specific to the post:Knowledge of Irish HealthcareKnowledge of HIQA/Safer better healthcare standardsStrong awareness of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at risk of AbuseStrong understanding of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act, with the knowledge to exercise this in careFull driver's license and access to use of own car.Please note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, ongoing Garda Vetting, relevant qualifications and a satisfactory pre-employment medical. Salary is in accordance with HSE consolidated pay scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
