Job Purpose
Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in equipment set-up.
Responsible for maintenance, and calibration of equipment, as well as performing rework and testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Mechanical/electrical/pneumatic hardware and software—HMI interfacing / vision systems.
Responsible for machine performance and up time.
Take responsibility for setting up and executing preventative maintenance procedures and routines in assigned process/es or area/s.
Assist in implementing technical improvements on existing and new equipment/processes.
Responsible for identifying, sourcing and replenishment of all equipment spares.
Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment changes and improvements.
Interface with a variety of BSCI personnel and with outside vendors when necessary while performing the above.
Lead / support product quality investigations and liaise with other support functions such as quality, SQE, design, manufacturing and x-site functions as required.
Good communication skills are essential; required to communicate complex technical investigations to non-technical teams.
Provides support for Manufacturing Engineering and any other internal customers as required.
Provide technical training and mentorship to other technicians as required.
Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) decision process.
Perform routine and some non-routine technical assignments using standard methods and sequences.
Assignments will require limited engineering judgment in troubleshooting proven processes and assisting with resolution of complex quality and manufacturing issues.
Follow procedures and have knowledge of how MPI's, TPI's, drawings, etc. are used.
Operate to the highest safety and 5S standards on a daily basis and encourage others to follow suit.
Work with a computer maintenance management system.

Participate in area and tiered meetings.
Work with stores personnel on spare parts reorder and management of same.
Education & Experience
NFQ Higher Certificate Level 6 Technical Qualification.
2 years minimum experience in the Medical Device industry.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Self-motivated to seek out opportunities to improve process performance.
Communicates well with peers on issues/problems that arise.
Good computer skills and systems knowledge.
