This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, operating modern machinery as part of continuous production lines.The RoleAs a Production Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting the efficient flow of material through the sawmill.This role reports to the Area Production Supervisor.Hours of WorkThis position operates on a rotating weekly shift pattern:Monday – ThursdayMorning Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.Evening Shift: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 midnightFridayMorning Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.Evening Shift: 3:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.Shifts rotate weekly (one week mornings, one week evenings).Please note: it is not possible to work permanent mornings or permanent evenings.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow written and verbal work instructions, including radio communicationSet up and adjust machinery using menus and recipes to optimise performanceMonitor production flow and manually intervene when required (turning, removing or rejecting boards)Clean, inspect and maintain equipment, identifying and reporting faults to supervisors or maintenanceCheck board quantities in finished and work-in-progress balesAccurately enter production data into the ERP system and prepare bale labelsMaintain a safe, clean and organised work areaWhere trained, operate mobile equipment to:Prepare loads for dispatch based on pick lists, orSort and pick logs according to work instructionsPerformance & StandardsEach production area operates against specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
